Every country has its own way of introducing itself to the world. Iran, too, has long been represented by the Shahnameh, as it stands among the greatest epics in history. We Iranians owe much of our Persian language and cultural heritage to the tireless efforts of Ferdowsi, the legendary epic poet of Iran and the world.

Abul-Qâsem Ferdowsi Tusi, also Firdawsi or Ferdowsi, was a Persian poet and the author of Shahnameh, which is one of the world’s longest epic poems created by a single poet, and the greatest epic of Persian-speaking countries.

ابوالقاسم فردوسی طوسی (زاده ی 329 هجری قمری – درگذشت 416 هجری قمری)، شاعر حماسه سرای ایرانی و سراینده ی شاهنامه، حماسه ی ملی ایران، است. بعضی افراد فردوسی را بزرگترین سراینده ی پارسی گو دانسته اند که از شهرت جهانی برخوردار است. فردوسی را حکیم سخن و حکیم طوس می گویند.
