About Author:
Per Petterson was born in Oslo in 1952 and worked for several years as an unskilled labourer and a bookseller. He has received the prestigious Nordic Council Literature Prize and, on multiple occasions, the Brage Prize, the Norwegian Critics Prize for Literature and the Booksellers’ Best Book of the Year Award for his many celebrated novels, such as In the Wake, I Curse the River of Time and I Refuse. Petterson made his literary breakthrough in 2003 with Out Stealing Horses, which in English translation won the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize. It has been published in fifty languages and was an international bestseller.

کتاب «به هوای دزدیدن اسب ها» رمانی نوشته «پر پترسون» است که نخستین بار در سال 2003 به چاپ رسید. «تروند ساندر» مردی در آستانه هفتاد سالگی است که در تبعیدی خودخواسته در کلبه ای ساده واقع در مناطق شرقی نروژ زندگی می کند. زندگی آرام «تروند» به واسطه ملاقات با تنها همسایه اش—که آشنا به نظر می رسد—دگرگون می شود. این ملاقات، خاطره ای مربوط به یک روز تابستانی در سال 1948 را در ذهن «تروند» برمی انگیزد: وقتی دوست دوران نوجوانی او یعنی «یون» پیشنهاد کرد که آن ها به «هوای دزدیدن اسب ها» بیرون بروند. «تروند» اندکی بعد درمی یابد که همسایه اش «لارس»، در واقع برادر کوچکتر «یون» است. «تروند» خود را در این خاطره غرق می کند و تابستانی را به یاد می آورد که به مسیر زندگی اش شکل و جهت داد. در همین حین و در زمان حال، «تروند» و «لارس» باید خود را برای مواجهه با زمستانی سخت آماده کنند.

پیر پیترسون (انگلیسی: Per Petterson؛ زادهٔ ۱۸ ژوئیهٔ ۱۹۵۲) پدیدآور، رمان‌نویس اهل نروژ است.
پترسون یک کتابدار آموزش دیده‌است. او قبل از اینکه نویسنده ای تمام وقت شود به عنوان کتابدار، مترجم و منتقد ادبی کار می‌کرد. او به کنوت هامسون و ریموند کارور به عنوان کسانی که روی او تأثیر داشته‌اند اشاره می‌کند.
